Classical Training Program (CTP) offers a rare opportunity for young dancers ages 14-21 who are passionate about pursuing a career in professional ballet. With an internationally renowned faculty and guests, we are currently accepting applications for the '23-'24 season.
Past dancers of the program have gone on to join prestigious companies around the world.
As a year-round finishing program for advanced dancers, our main focus is on classical ballet technique, but our intensive program covers a range of styles and educational opportunities for becoming a well-rounded artist. CTP is the perfect opportunity for aspiring dancers to refine their skills, learn from the best, and take the first step towards a successful career in dance.
Meet the Directors
CTP ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Mr. Birkadze specializes in all areas of classical dance and choreography. He is highly regarded for his coaching of both female and male advanced students, his pupils continue to seek his guidance as they join the most prestigious companies and schools around the world. Hailing from one of the world’s greatest schools and having danced around all the world, Mr. Birkadze is undoubtedly a fountain of knowledge. His passion and dedication for dance, art, and history is nothing short of inspiring.
This program, curated by Mr. Birkadze, is designed to best prepare advanced students to successfully enter life in a professional company. The environment is designed to help artists thrive as they prepare for this big step in their careers, emphasizing strong classical technique, performance opportunities, versatility, and developing individual artistry.
CTP ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
American Ballerina, Ashley Ellis stepped down as Principal Dancer of Boston Ballet in May of 2021, to take on the role of Associate Director of the Classical Training Program at TDC. She will be passing on an abundance of rich knowledge from her time dancing on stages around the world, working with some of the world’s most prominent choreographers, and working alongside internationally acclaimed dancers. Ms. Ellis holds a wealth of artistic insight and experience which will be of great value to future generations.
Joining Artistic Director of the program, George Birkadze, Ms. Ellis teaches and coaches dancers preparing them as versatile artists who have an impact in the world of dance.
Our pricing structure includes several components such as tuition fees, costume and performance fees, housing expenses, and additional fees. The tuition fees cover the cost of classes, while costume and performance fees are charged for participation in performances and events. Housing expenses are additional for those who choose to live on site.
Our housing program is designed to provide a comfortable and convenient living experience for our students. The apartments are located just a short 2-minute walk from the studio, in a safe area with plenty of nearby amenities such as restaurants, cafes, and parks. The apartments are brand new and offer luxurious living spaces for our students to enjoy.
We are excited to showcase our talented dancers at our upcoming performances. We host several performances throughout the year, each featuring a diverse range of dance styles and techniques. We invite you to join us and witness the skill and artistry of our dancers as they take the stage and deliver unforgettable performances.
